Team Sentiment Tracking

Keys to Team Sentiment Tracking:
Does your firm execute a regular (see usually annual) associate survey? Often times firms may take a yearly pass at gaining data from their associates viewpoint on topics deemed important to either the desired culture/way of working or the targets outcomes of the firm’s efforts. If this annual survey does exist, consider developing a unit/team wide version of this instrument aimed at gaining regular feedback to understand and impact these areas in between the intervals of the full firm survey.
Two approaches to deploying this type of instrument are:
I.) Survey designed around general topic areas asking the team members to respond whether a specific expression of this topic is or isn’t happening… and the allowing them the additional ability to add new suggested expressions in support of the general topic.
II.) Generate a survey instrument with statements that you ask team members to respond to on a likert-type scale of agreement. Allow for a score/data value that can be used to compare against other like data sets, year over year firm score, other units within the firm, and industry standards (assuming that you can adopt an equivalent scoring system.)
